Description:
Thallus is a dusky to pale red, distromatic, wedge-shaped blade that can reach over a meter (39 in) in length although it is usually much smaller. Male and female reproductive cells occur on separate sectors of the blade, which is often somewhat slippery. Habitat: This species occurs on rock or other algae in the low intertidal to subtidal of semi-exposed to exposed habitats.
