Description: Thallus is a purple (sometimes dark green), broadly expanded blade a single cell layer thick. Sexes are intermixed along the margin of the blade. This species is common from British Columbia south but is less common in Alaska. Habitat: It occurs in the mid intertidal on rock in semi-protected to semi-exposed habitats.
