Description:
Thallus is red, flattened, fan-shaped, more or less dichotomously branched, with branch segments narrow or wide and short or long (depending on species). Habitat: Species are subtidal (rarely low intertidal); some occur on rock, others are epiphytic or even epizoic. Most appear to be perennial.
