Description:
Thallus is a dark green spongy cushion 25 cm (10 in) or more in diam. and 15 mm (0.6 in) or less thick. Because the filaments comprising the thallus are narrow, the tips are not visible to the naked eye, and the surface appears smooth. Habitat: This perennial occurs on rock in the very low intertidal or shallow subtidal of semi-exposed and exposed habitats. Similar taxa: Codium ritterii
